Why we built it
We built our own potentiostat, and it needed software to match. BRINanoStat lets a student run a measurement on any Windows laptop, online or not, and watch the data arrive live instead of waiting for the run to finish.

The name
BRIN, nano, and potentiostat joined into one word, for the agency and the research center where it was written.
What stands out
Change the view while the measurement runs. Switch the x axis to another potential scale, or the y axis between current and current density, in real time and without stopping the experiment.
What it does
- Cyclic voltammetry, linear sweep voltammetry, chronoamperometry, and square wave voltammetry
- Real-time plotting during the measurement
- Axes that can be changed live, such as potential scale, current, or current density
- Noise filtering by mains-synchronised averaging, Savitzky-Golay smoothing, or a median filter, with raw and filtered views
- Works offline on Windows
